Inventor Dr Thomas Owusu Mensah Dies At Age 74

Dr. Thomas Owusu Mensah, a Ghanaian-American chemical engineer and inventor, has gone away. He was a pioneer in the creation of nanotechnology and fiber optic manufacturing.
After a brief illness, he is reported to have passed away at the Catholic Hope Exchange Hospital in Kumasi, Ghana, while undergoing treatment.
Dr Owusu Mensah was the Founder and C.E.O of the Georgia Aerospace in the United States of America.
In addition to teaching, the professor serves as the CEO of Ghana’s Silicon Valley, the biggest innovation and technology hub in the world.
One of the most accomplished chemical engineers and inventors, Dr. Mensah helped create the biggest drone ever made.
He is the only scientist whose invention of the Fiber Optics technology also introduced the earth planet to the Integrated Industrial Revolution which has boosted the global economy with over 85% increment turnout.
Also, he served on the MIT (Number one world ranking university) Board of Directors for five years and worked with NASA – USA and championed STEM at NASA.
His inventions merited his induction into the US National Academy of Inventors in 2015.
Dr Thomas Owusu Mensah traced his roots to Kumawu in the Asante Kingdom (Sekyere Province), both his parents are from the Kumawu state but was born and bred in Kumasi.
He has his basic education at Wesley College Practice School and secondary education at the Mfantsipim School in Cape Coast. He then proceeded to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, KNUST in Kumasi.
He died at age 74.
