History of Asante Nation

Asante Heritage Buildings.

At all costs, these buildings ought to be kept safe. For visitors from abroad who come to Kumasi, it functions as a tourist attraction. When they see the types of structures that our parents and grandparents lived in throughout the 1900s, they are impressed.

Instead of demolishing it to create a more sophisticated one, it ought to undergo continuous renovations to preserve its charm. The ancient, grey homes at Ashtown, Krofrom, Dichemso, Asafo, Amakom, Suame, Bantama, and other places are there to encourage the ageing process. It reminds me of the structure of the extended family. Where we lived together with our parents, grand parents, brothers and sisters, uncles and their wives, aunties, cousins, a memorable childhood experience 😊

In honour of the King’s anniversary, the ones in Ashtown near the Palace had undergone some renovations, you can only picture the refined look and elegant appearance that greets you when you go in. Some even need only paintings and nothing more.

If you want to build a modern house there are a lot of sites and residential areas to put up such structures; Ahodwo, Paraku estate, Diamond City, Hilltop executive estates, Ohwimase, Danyame, Nhyiaeso, Ridge in fact over 100 and counting executive estates and new sites in Kumasi. But please we want these buildings alive to tell our story. They are our heritage buildings.

Piawwwwwwww!!!!
